MBBS students were granted temporary relief on Tuesday by the principal bench of the Madhya Pradesh high court in Jabalpur, allowing them to apply online for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Post-Graduation, or NEET PG.

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) requires applications to be submitted by January 27. The deadline for submitting forms is noon.

On March 5, the examination will be given. About 1,500 MBBS students are currently out of the race because their internship ends on July 25 and the deadline is June 30.

Advocate Aditya Sanghi, who spoke on behalf of MBBS students, stated, “MBBS students of MP who have been declared in-eligible because their one-year internship is ending on 25 July 2023—around a month later than the cutoff date—will now be able to at least fill out their forms.”

“The internship that began on July 25, 2022, will automatically end on July 25, 2023, after one year has passed, due to the omission and commission of MP Medical Science University, Jabalpur. The High Court granted the petitioners interim relief and gave them until January 27, 2023 to complete the forms. The application online deadline is January 27, 2023: 55 am. The advocate stated, “The non-completion of the internship period would have prevented them from being eligible for Pre PG examination eligibility and wasted a full year of the MBBS students’ time.”
