Re-opening of Medical College – As per MoHFW

From quite a long time, educational institutions remained close, due to prevailing pandemic situation. However, it is now time that assuming classes becomes very necessary as the losses are concerned. Accordingly, to open the Medical Colleges once again, a notification is issued recently by the MoHFW.

However, for the sake of improvement as well as progress in the field of education in the sector of medicine, the NMC viewed that, starting the classes of the same as early as possible is of dire necessity. Further, the National Medical Commission looked for all the possible factors and decided that opening all the Medical Colleges in India on 1st December or so will be the best possible decision and action.

Other Important Decisions

The re-opening of the medical colleges is an excellent decision undertaken by the concerned authorities. Regarding the same, Home Affairs, PIB as well as MoHFW, has granted permission to the NMC. So, with immediate effect, it is hoped that the medical colleges will assume their classes soon.

However, this pandemic scenario has slowed down the educational process and thus, coming up with new decisions is a big task to be carried out. NMC has also stated that this decision will be in concordance with other norms of States/UTs laid down for pandemic.

Accordingly, the year of 2021 will experience a delay in the NEET PG Examination. Following that, even the 2020 batch students’ faced colossal loss in their academics amidst the corona situation and their classes will begin soon from 1st February in the year 2021.

Previous notification regarding NEET PG raised significant concerns which are resolved in this notification stating that due to non-completion of the internship by interns across India would increase uncertainty for the commencement of PG classes. Therefore the latest sessions for PG students that are to commence from 1st July 2021.

As a result, the academic year of 2021-22 will automatically face some delay, and that is scheduled to be held on either March or April. Indeed, the complete structure of academics experienced some notable changes which were never thought of before.

MBBS Schedule for the upcoming four-year batches

The next batches of studying MBBS will surely face the consequences of change in their schedule. As per the new schedule, the medicos from 2016 batch will have their internship from 1st May 2021. Results, as well as Examinations, will be decided accordingly.

They will further have clinical training for a period of 3 to 4 months. On 1st July 2022, the PG courses will be beginning for the year 2022-23. The new schedule is, however, quite different from the previous ones as it has been specially designed keeping the present situation in view.

However, the batch of 2016 will have their NEET PG examination either in March or on April. In addition to the that, the batches concerning students from the year 2018 as well 2019 will be having their examination in March or April and simultaneously on May their next year will begin.

The examination for the batch of 2019 is scheduled to be held in the month of either January or February and accordingly from March, and they can enjoy their next year. Yes, the schedule took a huge turn and indeed, the students have to go on according to the same.
